Mike Elliot - Preaching Minister

I have been the preaching minister at BGCC since July, 2005. My wife and I raised our family in rural Jasper County, where we still reside. We have 2 grown children and 3 grandchildren who all live in Southern Illinois. I am a 1983 graduate of St. Louis Christian College. Our home now consists of my wife and me, as well as 30+ critters—from the typical dogs and cats to chickens and 1 mini-pig.

Our goal at BGCC is to make sure everyone understands they are welcome in our worship service. Tim, our Worship Minister, leads a song service that is sure to appeal to any taste each week. He leads us in a truly blended service—mixing favorite hymns and newer choruses to make sure all who are there experience Jesus each week.

If you can't attend some Sunday, you can always catch our service on our Facebook page!
Hope to see you soon!

Tim Davis - Worship Minister

Tim has been the music minister at Bible Grove Christian Church since October of 2014. He grew up in southern Effingham County near Eberle and graduated from Dieterich High School in 1982. In 1984, Tim graduated from Lakeland College with an associate degree in Radio and TV Broadcasting. In the fall of 1989, God led him to St. Louis Christian College, where he graduated with an Associates in Ministry and a Bachelor of Science degree in Christian Education. Tim worked at SLCC for 5 years following graduation, after which he moved back to his home area, where he has held several music ministry positions at various area churches.

Tim married Courtney Allen of Louisville in August of 2003. They currently live in Louisville, where Tim serves on the Village Board of Trustees. They have 3 beautiful children through the blessing of adoption, 3 cats (one of which adopted them!) and one Morkie Poo [What’s that you say? – It’s a Maltese, Yorkie and Poodle mix]. Courtney serves as the full-time administrative assistant at her home church of Red Brush Christian Church and has done so for more than 20 years.

“I love serving at Bible Grove. It reminds me of my home church of Elliottstown Church of Christ. In regards to Mike’s preaching, I really enjoy his ‘Goldilocks’ style – not too long and not too short – Lol! In all seriousness, Mike does a great job of making God’s word easy to understand and how it applies to our lives by using great illustrations and life stories. He’s not an ‘in your face’ preacher, yet he doesn’t pull any punches. Bible Grove is blessed to have him.”
